The location was useful for the railway station, and moving on the next day

Friendly atmosphere, help to find good restaurant
The Location to the CBS
It was a great location for what we wanted right near the train station and the staff were all helpful and friendly
The location, its near the train station and also in the centre of sofia. everything its ok, especially the people who are working there. very polite. (and very beautiful - the women).
The room was nice (and purple!), good western-european standards for a fair price.
The breakfast is a little small, some cereals would be nice.
Nice hotel in brand new building with comfortable and very clean rooms located only 10min walking distance from the city center (metrostation and central train and bus station are only a 3min walk). Helpfull and friendly staff. Breakfast consists of a small buffet in the Aris restaurant, in the same building. They also offer tasty lunch and diner for a fair price.
Nothing negative in our experience.
Everything was perfect! The room was tidy and beautifully designed. The price was low compared to the benefits of the hotel .the working staff was kind and willing. The hotel was not far away from city centre. I strongly recommend hotel Aris for a sejour at Sofia.
Nice design, new construction, fairly large rooms and private parking. Very good value for money.
Non smoking restaurant coling very early
Small, thus not overpowered by hordes of poeople. It is just a stroll from Main Bus & Railway station. Reception Staff, were first class [ spoke English ] very friendly & welcoming. Room is a reasonable size & spotlessly clean ! We were particularly pleased to find a lift in the hotel, both of us a wee bit dodgy on the legs!
very good value for money. excelent facilities, supportive staff good cuisine. excelent place for transit or short business trips
Hotel Aris is a very nice hotel. Like all hotels, it has its pros and cons. We looked online and personally at several hotels in Sofia; so, we speak from experience. Pros: The receptionists were very, very friendly. It was a pleasure to talk with them. Their English was very good and we had almost no difficulties in communication. The room itself was extremely nice… especially compared to other comparably priced hotels. We felt the laundry service was inexpensive. The beds were great. The bathroom was luxurious for this class of hotel. Even the shampoo was worth using, unlike the shampoo in some hotels. We were thrilled with the hotel once we walked in. It has a modern look and feel to it, unlike some of the older upgraded/renovated (communist era) hotels around Sofia.
Cons: I mention these not to complain as much as to alert you to what we found here. We are very patient people and travel to third world countries a lot, having lived in South America for 23 years. However, when we pay for service, we expect it. (Remember, this is only our experience based on only 4 nights there.) One major problem we had with the Aris was that the Air Conditioner has a “Don’t touch the AC!” label on it. Honestly, we tried to turn it down from the 25o C (77oF) that it was set on, down to 20o C (68o F). However, the temperature did not go down even one degree over night. We were hot, so we opened the window. At least one mosquito found its way into the room during the night and buzzed my ear a few times, biting me at least three times. So, we mentioned this and they called in an AC repair man. Great. However, we were at the Aris for four nights and an AC man came into our room five times. Even when we left the room after five days, the AC had only gone down 0.7 of a degree. We opened the window every night, preferring to deal with mosquitoes than the hot room. (I killed two mosquitoes and left one more mosquito in the room when we left, since it disappeared somewhere in the woodwork. I hope it is gone or dead by the time you get there.) They talked about moving us to another room but never did. Finally, we were told that the central AC unit controls all the rooms and the temperature could not be changed. I do not know if that is true, since I have never seen that before nor could prove it in this case. We were disappointed in the AC not functioning correctly. If true, no wonder they put a “Don’t touch the AC!” label on the unit in the room. Having walked around the city a lot during our stay, we were HOT and TIRED when we got back to our room each day. We would tease each other about the possibility of the AC beginning to work again on any given day. It never did. SAD.
